Member Director Nominations

Nominations for one voting B class member director position will be open from 9:00am (AEST) on Monday, 7 August to 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday, 18 August, with a ballot to be held in September.

This is an opportunity for suitably experienced and motivated people to join a dynamic regional water business which plays a critical role in the MIA.

Nomination Criteria

Under the Company’s Constitution, to be eligible for either of these positions you must either:

  1. personally hold shares in Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited in the relevant class as well as a landholding, or
  2. be the Sole Body Corporate Representative of, and a shareholder of, a member, and that member:
    1. holds voting shares of the relevant class; and
    2. is a landholder; and
    3. is a company or co-operative.

Experience Sought in Directors

Collective knowledge, skills and experience sought in directors:

  • Understanding of agricultural, rural and water issues
  • Knowledge and experience in strategic decision-making related to and integrated with customer and wider stakeholder objectives
  • Strategic management skills and knowledge of frameworks or models that will enhance the company’s performance and commercial viability
  • Ability to contribute to the development of strategies and policies to guide and strategically position the business sustainably for the future
  • Functional experience in one or more areas: land management, financial management, environment planning, community development, production, construction, engineering, human resources, and/or other management-related areas
  • Understanding of, or experience in a similar role, as a director of a business, an association, or an industry group and the related governance and compliance obligations
  • Commercial expertise in running a successful company, co-operative or similar organisation
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills.
